This is great, but Japan features a fundamental energy-related emissions problem beyond the production of goods:
- waste in Japan is incinerated for volume reduction, without significant energy recovery and leading (perhaps) to over-packaging of consumption goods (to feed the incineration facilities)...
- insulation of houses is very poor, and heating is normally electric-powered...
- etc...
I would love to perform GHG inventorying of a municipality in Japan.... if anyone knows about such initiative please let me know!
